Cycling Physio

Adrian discovered his passion for cycling while watching the feats of Alberto Contador fighting his way to victory in the 2015 Giro d’Italia. Since then this personal interest has developed into a professional specialisation, and at Podium Physio he enjoys the challenge of looking after all cycling injuries, whether from road, track, mountain trails or simply commuting and recreation.

Adrian has a comprehensive insight into the types of injuries that cyclists can develop, both from a Sports Physio perspective and as a result of his own training regime. He understands the complexities of treating these injuries whilst maintaining a training load, and the additional rehabilitation commitment required to return to full cycling fitness.

Adrian has attended multiple physio courses on bike fitting and the management of cycling injuries both in Australia and internationally, and this is the primary focus of his practice. Recovery from a cycling related injury might require intervention targeting the cyclist, the bike or both.

Cycling Physio

Cycling is a non-contact, non-impact, concentric muscle contraction, high cardio, repetitive activity. These features mean that it is an activity that is generally very safe and generally very good for your health. Despite this, discomfort on the bike is common.
